王红梅,女,教授,博导,环境学院副院长,从事微生物生态学和地质微生物学的教学和科研。2001-2002,2006-2008先后两次赴美国俄亥俄州立大学和美国南加州大学进行为期三年半的合作研究。
    先后获全国百篇优秀博士论文提名奖,是湖北省杰出青年基金和教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划入选者。2008年,获得教育部自然科学一等奖1项,2011年获得国家自然科学基金重点基金1项,2012年获得武汉市第三届青年科技奖,2013年获得武汉市三八红旗手称号。2015年获湖北省师德先进个人。任国际洞穴协会微生物分会副主席,湖北省古生物学会理事,中国矿物岩石地球化学学会第八届环境矿物学专业委员会委员。生物地质与环境地质国家重点实验室固定研究人员,地质微生物实验室负责人。
    主持或主持完成国家自然科学基金项目4项,教育部新世纪优秀人才计划项目1项、973项目子课题(2项)、中石化前瞻性基础研究项目1项、湖北省杰出青年基金1项、中央高校基本科研经费优秀青年教师特色学科团队项目1项,中央高校基本科研经费腾飞计划项目1项。发表SCI论文40余篇,出版专著2部。
    科学研究主要围绕三个方向:(1)重金属污染矿区微生物的群落组成及其地球化学过程机理研究;(2)洞穴系统微生物群落结构及其与环境因子之间的关系;(3)神农架大九湖植物共生微生物以及对泥炭湿地发育的作用。
    目前主要承担微生物生态学、微生物学及实验、地质微生物学、地球生物学、第四纪环境重建技术等本科生和研究生课程的讲授,以及北戴河海洋动物及地质认识实习。曾经主讲的课程包括普通地质学、海洋生物学、生命科学概论等。
